John Lane was born in 1938 in Nelson, B.C. After opening several of his own sawmill and construction supply companies in the B.C. interior, he moved to Winnipeg in 1978 to complete work on his first book of poems, I Want to Tell You Lies (Turnstone Press). He now lives in Montreal.Website URL:
