King Jerry

Jerry King tries to be as inept as possible in his role as a professor, but his inability to get anything done only makes him more appealing to his higher-ups.

Jerry's ex-wife and three daughters aren’t big fans of who he has become, which is just fine with him. Despite his grumpiness and callous retorts to everyone he meets, Jerry does try to find some happiness in his life.

But the harder he tries, the more misfortune he faces. His misadventure begins when Debbie, a college friend of Jerry's daughter, shows up on his doorstep, desperate for a place to stay and get back on her feet. Jerry agrees to this, despite his misgivings. But the more Jerry tells her to go away, the more he wishes she would stay. In his own gruff, cynical, rude, obnoxious way, Jerry cares for her until she is ready to leave him.
